Truc Lam Temple was inaugurated in 2008. One year later, in May 2009, this Nha Trang temple was recognized by the Vietnam Record Book Center as the largest island temple in Vietnam.

Truc Lam Tinh Vien Nha Trang was built in the "Quoc" letter architectural style typical of Northern temples, with all four-sacred-animal patterns made of ironwood, the three-level stone steps paved with Ninh Binh stone, and worship statues, horizontal lacquered boards, and parallel sentences made of wood painted in red and gilded.
The temple belongs to the Truc Lam sect, so its architecture focuses on harmony with nature and the surrounding scenery. This is reflected in the fact that the temple is situated on a high mountain, with its front facing Northeast, overlooking the sea, and its back facing Southwest, leaning against the mountain cliff.
The vast Truc Lam mountain monastery is divided into several different areas such as: the Great Hero Hall (Dai Hung Bao Dien), West Wing, Ancestor Hall, East Wing, Dia Tang Shrine, Monks' Quarters, etc.
Prominent is the open-air statue of Avalokiteshvara Bodhisattva of the Southern Sea (Quan Am Nam Hai), with her left hand holding a vase and her right hand elegantly holding a willow branch, looking gentle and benevolent. Located on the right side of the temple is the Guan Yin statue made of Nghe An white marble, standing 8m tall. Beneath it, the statue pedestal is shaped like unique waves, 4.3m high. The tall Buddha statue faces the sea, casting a gentle gaze over the world.
Stepping into the Main Hall of the temple, you will admire many delicately carved statues with exquisite lines. The inner sanctum worships the deities who protect the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas, such as the Eight Vajra Protectors (Bat Bo Kim Cuong), the Dharma Protector of Encouraging Goodness, the statue of the Venerable Ananda, the Dharma Protector of Punishing Evil, and the statue of Anathapindika. Deep inside is the altar area: Maitreya, Amitabha Triad, Shakyamuni Buddha Triad, and the Newborn Shakyamuni. All create a solemn and massive appearance for this largest temple on Hon Tre Island.
