4 days and 3 nights – if you know how to plan, this is the ideal amount of time to feel the pulse of both Khanh Hoa and Ninh Thuan. Our goal is not to check in as many places as possible, but to have a journey where you truly absorb each destination.
Day 1: Nha Trang - Urban recharging
Land at Cam Ranh airport and head to the center of Nha Trang. Spend your first day resting after the flight, wandering around the coastal city, enjoying seafood, and visiting cultural sites such as Po Nagar Cham Towers. Nha Trang at night has a very different rhythm; try to experience it by strolling along Tran Phu street.
Day 2: Islands and tranquility
On this day, choose a nearby island cluster or spend time relaxing at a hot mineral mud bath resort. No need to visit too many islands; spend half a day lying on the sand and listening to the waves. If you have the energy, you can start heading toward Cam Ranh or the south in the late afternoon to prepare for the next day.
Day 3: The legendary coastal road (Cam Ranh - Vinh Hy - Phan Rang)
This is the most beautiful day, but also the most physically demanding. Depart early to catch the sunrise on the DT702 coastal road. A stop at Vinh Hy is a must. You can rent a glass-bottom boat to see the coral reefs. In the afternoon, head to Phan Rang to visit a vineyard and the Po Klong Garai Cham Towers.
The coastal road in Ninh Thuan is beautiful but very sunny; ensure your vehicle is checked thoroughly before departure and carry enough drinking water.
Day 4: Sun, wind, and the return
Spend the morning visiting the Nam Cuong sand dunes or the Bau Truc pottery village if time permits. Have lunch with local specialties like Phan Rang chicken rice before moving to Cam Ranh airport for your return.
Important notes for the itinerary:
-
Dividing the journey: Do not ride a motorbike for more than 3 consecutive hours.
-
Plan B: Always have a list of cafes or shaded rest stops along the route to avoid sudden harsh sun.
Services: If you are traveling independently, book canoe services or accommodation in advance during peak season.
Train schedules at Thap Cham station or flight times to/from Cam Ranh should be re-checked on the official websites to avoid timing errors.
