Delegates assessed that although Quang Tri and Khanh Hoa are geographically distant, they have many complementary advantages for development. Quang Tri is rich in historical and revolutionary traditions, with unique values of culture, heritage, nature, and people of the Central region; Khanh Hoa stands out with its seas, islands, resort tourism, services, and unique cultural values of the South Central Coast. One side is heritage, history, culture, and peace; the other is sea, islands, resorts, and services. Connecting these advantages will create more products, journeys, and new, more attractive experiences for tourists. In particular, from August 16, the Dong Hoi - Cam Ranh flight route was put into operation, creating a convenient connection method between Quang Tri and Khanh Hoa. This not only shortens the travel distance but also opens up new cooperation opportunities in tourism, culture, trade, investment, and people-to-people exchange. This is a favorable time for the two provinces to shift from 'activity-by-activity cooperation' to linkage to jointly create new values and expand development space.

On that basis, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Khanh Hoa and the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Quang Tri signed a cooperation agreement on cultural, sports, and tourism development for the 2026 - 2030 period. The cooperation content spans many fields: Cultural exchange through art performances, photography and fine arts exhibitions; communication to promote the unique features of each locality; sharing experiences in preserving tangible and intangible cultural heritage; cooperation in sports development; tourism product development, promotional support, coordination in organizing tourism surveys and human resource training; technology application, digital transformation; cooperation in the fields of information, press, and publishing.

The two sides agreed to jointly organize investment promotion activities associated with trade and tourism promotion such as: conferences, seminars, investment forums, business meeting programs, survey delegations, domestic and international roadshows. Annually, the two sides will alternately organize trade connection conferences to expand product consumption markets, creating conditions for businesses of the two provinces to consume goods; at the same time, promote tourism connection between Khanh Hoa and Quang Tri through road, rail, and air transport.

Speaking at the conference, Standing Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Khanh Hoa Province Nguyen Long Bien assessed that the signing of the Cooperation Program for cultural, sports, and tourism development between Khanh Hoa and Quang Tri for the 2026 - 2030 period is an important milestone, opening up a more substantive, deep, and effective phase of cooperation between the two localities. He highly appreciated the proactiveness of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, promotion agencies, the Tourism Association, and the business community of the two provinces in concretizing the linkage policy with comprehensive cooperation contents, from cultural and sports exchanges; developing inter-provincial tourism products, tours, and routes; promotion; human resource training to digital transformation and state management experience sharing.
Mr. Nguyen Long Bien emphasized that today's signing ceremony is only the beginning, the most important thing is to put the agreed contents into practice, creating specific products, specific activities, and practical values for people, businesses, and tourists. Accordingly, he requested that agencies and units of the two provinces quickly concretize the cooperation program into annual implementation programs and plans, clearly defining the work content, progress, presiding unit, coordinating unit, and expected results; at the same time, maintain inspection, evaluation, and periodic review mechanisms to ensure substantive cooperation and avoid formality. Tourism cooperation needs to take businesses and tourists as the center of tourism linkage; encourage businesses to actively build tours and routes connecting Quang Tri - Khanh Hoa; promote the complementarity of resources, products, and markets, gradually forming unique tourism programs capable of attracting domestic and international tourists.
At the same time, it is necessary to promote tourism promotion between the two localities, in which the Tourism Association and businesses of the two provinces study and organize famtrips, presstrips, conferences, seminars, and joint promotional events; enhance digital communication, connect promotional platforms, and effectively exploit online channels to bring the images and products of Khanh Hoa and Quang Tri closer to tourists.

Mr. Hoang Xuan Tan emphasized that Khanh Hoa is a major economic center of the Central region, a key area for tourism development, with a large source of international tourists. Quang Tri wishes to work with Khanh Hoa to best promote the unique advantages of each locality, forming a chain of complementary products, creating a different journey: from the heritage, history, culture, and peace of Quang Tri to the sea, islands, resorts, and services of Khanh Hoa; gradually making the two localities connected destinations in the journey of domestic and international tourists to explore the Central region.
