Nha Trang builds a safe, civilized, and friendly destination

Nha Trang is a destination that attracts a large number of domestic and international tourists. The growth in visitor numbers, vehicles, and tourism services poses increasingly high demands on local administration. From that reality, the authorities of Nha Trang Ward have implemented numerous solutions to ensure security, order, traffic safety, urban order, and environmental sanitation, contributing to building the image of a safe and civilized destination.

Efforts from grassroots authorities

Implementing Directive No. 24/CT-TTg dated May 28, 2026 of the Prime Minister on strengthening national security protection and ensuring social order and safety in tourism activities, the Standing Committee of the Party Committee and leaders of the Nha Trang Ward People's Committee have identified ensuring security and safety for tourists as one of the key tasks.

According to Mr. Huynh Quang Tu - Vice Chairman of the Nha Trang Ward People's Committee, immediately after operating the two-tier local government model, the Ward People's Committee specified tasks by issuing Directive No. 01/CT-UBND dated August 13, 2025 on strengthening the work of ensuring security and order; crime prevention and suppression; ensuring traffic safety; and managing construction order, urban aesthetics, and environmental sanitation in the area.

Over more than a year of implementation, the ward has focused on handling issues arising in the area. In the field of construction order, the ward inspected and issued administrative penalty decisions for 16 cases of unauthorized and unpermitted construction, with a total fine of 500 million VND.

Along with that, the management of urban order and aesthetics has been strengthened through the development of civilized urban streets. The ward maintains 2 task forces operating 5 shifts a day, organizing inspections and handling violations of traffic safety and order, as well as encroachment on sidewalks and roadways. Thereby, 393 cases have been penalized with a total fine of more than 519 million VND.

The Ward Police force plays a core role in ensuring security and order. In the first 9 months of 2026, the Ward Police conducted 389 patrols, drew up 75 administrative violation reports; coordinated with specialized departments of the Provincial Police to conduct 150 patrols, drew up 83 violation reports, and encouraged 28 business establishments and households to sign commitments to strictly abide by the provisions of law.

According to the Nha Trang Ward Police, in the first 9 months of 2026, the rate of investigating and solving social order offenses reached 98% (clearing 43/44 cases involving 75 suspects). This result contributes to ensuring security and order in a key tourism area.

Along with the police force, grassroots security and order protection forces and neighborhood groups have also promoted their role in monitoring the situation and resolving incidents arising at the grassroots level. Many cases have been promptly detected and handled, preventing them from escalating into complex issues.

Strengthening technology application, promoting the community's role

According to Mr. Huynh Quang Tu, in the coming time, the People's Committee of Nha Trang Ward will continue to synchronously implement measures under Directive No. 24/CT-TTg, focusing on proactive prevention, clear assignment of responsibilities among forces, and developing plans to ensure security and order tailored to each period.

The ward proactively develops plans to ensure security and order during holidays, Tet, major events, and peak tourist periods; at the same time, it reviews areas and establishments at risk of violations to take early preventive measures.

Publicity and guidance for restaurants, accommodation establishments, and entertainment venues will also continue to be enhanced, focusing on price listing, fire safety and prevention, residence registration, and the protection of tourists' property. Each business household is guided to become a friendly "tourism ambassador," raising awareness of law compliance and civilized conduct toward visitors.

In addition, the ward focuses on inspecting and handling roadway and sidewalk encroachments, and consolidating and enhancing the quality of grassroots security and order protection forces, thereby supporting the police force in ensuring traffic order, safety, and security across the area.

The ward continues to effectively utilize the security camera system, expanding it along key routes and areas with high concentrations of tourists. The application of digital platforms in receiving and processing feedback from residents and visitors is also being stepped up, aiming to resolve matters quickly, publicly, and transparently. At the same time, the self-governing role of neighborhood groups, mass organizations, tourism enterprises, and local residents is promoted in detecting and reporting violations. Through this, community participation alongside the government is mobilized to maintain security and order and build a civilized tourism environment.

With the synchronous implementation of solutions ranging from area management and ensuring security and order to applying technology and promoting community engagement, Nha Trang Ward aims to build a safe, civilized, and attractive tourism environment, affirming the standing of the Nha Trang tourism brand among domestic and international visitors.
