The conference also focused on discussions and guidance regarding requirements related to the economical and efficient use of energy and resources; reduction of waste and plastic waste; environmental and biodiversity protection; emissions reduction; the use of environmentally friendly products and services; safeguarding workers' rights; and promoting the role of local communities and other contents tailored to each type of tourism establishment. In addition, delegates were guided on using the Green Tourism Standards Management System software, thereby supporting registration, information updates, evidence submission, and monitoring of the implementation process.
Through the conference, tourism businesses had the opportunity to clearly grasp each criterion, implementation method, and self-assessment approach; thereby identifying areas well implemented, as well as criteria that are missing or not yet met, so as to proactively develop remediation and improvement plans suited to the practical conditions of each unit.
To date, 5 businesses in the province have registered to participate in the recognition of meeting green tourism standards, including: Champa Island Nha Trang, The Anam Cam Ranh, Vinpearl Resort Nha Trang, Ana Mandara Cam Ranh, and Potique. Among them, Champa Island Nha Trang and The Anam Cam Ranh have completed the appraisal process and are taking steps to submit to the Provincial People's Committee for consideration and recognition; the remaining businesses are continuing to finalize their dossiers and undergo appraisal in accordance with regulations.
