On the morning of August 12, in Hanoi, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism held a ceremony to launch the 4th National Press Award "For the Cause of Vietnam's Cultural Development" in 2026, aiming to recognize and honor the outstanding contributions of journalistic collectives and individuals to the cause of Vietnam's cultural development.

The award is co-organized by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, with Culture Newspaper serving as the standing agency. Through the award, the Organizing Committee wishes to continue affirming the role, responsibility, and companionship of the press in propaganda, discovering, and spreading good values, new models, effective practices, and advanced examples; encouraging and motivating the entire sector to join hands and unite in contributing to the cause of cultural, sports, and tourism development in the new era.
Entries must be published or broadcasted between August 1, 2025, and August 31, 2026, with each entry consisting of no more than 5 installments. The content of the entries should focus on key areas: the implementation of the Resolution of the 14th National Party Congress, Resolution No. 80 of the Politburo, and the National Assembly's Resolution on Vietnam's cultural development; building and perfecting "enabling" institutional frameworks and policies to "unleash" resources for culture, sports, and tourism; developing cultural industries, applying artificial intelligence, and digital transformation in the sector; building Vietnamese people and families in the new era; milestones and solutions to enhance the competitiveness of Vietnam's tourism; new models and advanced examples, while also encouraging reflections on shortcomings in mechanisms and policies, and proposing solutions in the fields of culture, information, family, sports, and tourism.

One of the notable new features of the 4th National Press Award "For the Cause of Vietnam's Cultural Development" in 2026 is that the prize structure has been adjusted to reduce quantity while improving quality and honoring value. For each type of journalism, the prize structure includes: 1 first prize, 2 second prizes, 3 third prizes, and 5 consolation prizes. The prize values are: First prize of 50 million VND and a trip; second prize of 25 million VND; third prize of 15 million VND; consolation prize of 10 million VND.
In addition, the Organizing Committee will present 3 equal collective prizes to 3 press agencies with many participating entries and high achievements. In particular, the Organizing Committee has added a special prize, awarded to the most outstanding work selected from the 5 types of journalism, with a value of 100 million VND and a trip.
The closing and award ceremony is expected to be held in Hanoi on the occasion of Vietnam Cultural Day, November 24. The Organizing Committee expects that the 4th National Press Award "For the Cause of Vietnam's Cultural Development" will continue to attract many high-quality, highly-discovering, and socially-impactful journalistic works, contributing to affirming the role of the press in the cause of building and developing culture, sports, and tourism in the new era.
