Khanh Hoa Sea Festival 2026: Anticipating exciting sports tournaments

Alongside unique cultural and artistic activities, the Khanh Hoa Sea Festival 2026 will host a series of large-scale sports tournaments. These events will not only provide exciting, top-tier competitions for athletes but also contribute to promoting the natural beauty and cultural identity of the land of agarwood and swallow nests to numerous domestic and international tourists.

Tournaments of international scale

As part of the sports activities for the Khanh Hoa Sea Festival 2026, the Sea Star Nha Trang Bay International Swimming Championship 2026 (expected to take place from June 26 to 28) has attracted 30 domestic and international clubs, with nearly 1,500 athletes from 25 countries and territories registered to participate. It promises to be one of the largest sea swimming festivals in Nha Trang - Khanh Hoa. Following the success of the previous two seasons, this year's championship maintains 6 competition categories, including: 500m x 3 relay, and individual distances of 500m, 1km, 2km, 5km, and 10km, suitable for various types of athletes. Notably, the 10km sea swimming event to conquer Hon Tre Island allows athletes to challenge their endurance while immersing themselves in the pristine beauty of Nha Trang Bay. This year's tournament features former national swimmer Nguyen Thi Anh Vien. Her presence is expected to continue spreading the love for swimming, inspiring sports training, and connecting the community of sea swimming enthusiasts. 

The most prominent highlight in the Sea Festival's sports series is the VPS Cup Nha Trang International Sailing Regatta 2026 (expected from July 16 to 20) on Nha Trang Bay, in the area in front of 2/4 Square. With 9-12 teams from domestic and international sailing clubs competing in the Fleet Racing format according to World Sailing standards, the tournament promises to be one of the highlights of the festival season. A special feature of the tournament is that before the official competition days, the teams will have time for test runs on the course before entering the races and parades. The image of colorful, wind-filled sails gliding across the clear blue waters of Nha Trang Bay promises to create impressive moments, contributing to promoting the image of Khanh Hoa to a large number of domestic and international sports fans. 

The Anara Championship Golf Tournament - Khanh Hoa 2026 (expected on July 18 at Anara Binh Tien Golf Course, Cong Hai commune), featuring 80-100 domestic and international golfers, promises to be an attractive sports event. This is an opportunity for tourists and golfers alike to experience an international-standard golf course amidst the beautiful, pristine natural scenery of Khanh Hoa. 

Connecting the community through sports tournaments

In addition to international-scale tournaments, the Khanh Hoa Sea Festival 2026 also gathers many diverse sports activities serving the general public and tourists. The first Nha Trang City Trail (taking place from July 18 to 19) is expected to attract 4,000 athletes participating for the first time to conquer trails that combine coastal routes with characteristic hills. With diverse and beautiful natural landscapes, the tournament promises to offer a unique running experience amidst the sea and sky of Nha Trang.

Following that, the VnExpress Marathon Nha Trang 2026 (taking place on August 9) continues to be one of the large-scale sports events familiar to the running community nationwide when visiting Nha Trang - Khanh Hoa. With more than 12,000 participants, the race continues to bring energetic and emotional experiences. 

The Khanh Hoa Sea Festival 2026 is also an opportunity for the locality to introduce unique cultural and artistic features of the land of agarwood to tourists and international friends through the "language" of sports and outdoor experience activities. Notably, the Khanh Hoa Tourist Giant Kite Festival 2026 (taking place from July 16 to 19) is expected to feature about 60 kites ranging from 5m to 30m, bearing images of marine life and local cultural symbols such as Cham towers, swallow nests, and agarwood flying in the sky over Nha Trang (in the Youth Park soccer field area). This activity promises to be a unique artistic space, expected to attract 20,000 - 30,000 visitors. 

In addition, the 1st Khanh Hoa Provincial Lion-Dragon Dance Club Tournament (taking place from July 1 to 6 at the Agarwood Tower) and the Qigong exercise performance with 350 participants on the morning of July 18 at 2/4 Square are activities deeply imbued with local cultural identity. Here, sports are not just about competition but also act as a bond connecting residents with tourists in a vibrant and friendly festival atmosphere. Furthermore, the Carnival classic car parade (from July 17 to 18) with the participation of about 20 classic cars from Ho Chi Minh City also creates a unique highlight, contributing to enhancing the image of a dynamic, civilized, and modern Nha Trang. 

The Khanh Hoa Sea Festival 2026, with its diverse series of sports activities of national and international scale, is affirming the position of Nha Trang - Khanh Hoa as not only an attractive sea and island tourist destination but also a step toward becoming a regional hub for sea sports.
