In the open letter, the Provincial People's Committee emphasized: Khanh Hoa - the homeland of "the land of agarwood and sea of swiftlet nests" - is a land closely tied to numerous historical ups and downs in exploring, exploiting, and protecting the seas and islands, especially the Truong Sa Archipelago, a sacred territory of the Fatherland. Currently, the province has commenced the construction of Truong Sa Museum - a project envisioned as a multi-functional, modern, and exemplary cultural-educational institution of the province, serving the public's needs for research, study, sightseeing, and cultural enjoyment. To ensure that the exhibition content is rich and meaningful, meeting the people's aspirations, the Provincial People's Committee calls upon central departments, ministries, and agencies, provinces and cities, the armed forces, officers, soldiers, veterans, relatives of martyrs, scientists, researchers, and collectors, together with compatriots at home and overseas Vietnamese, to join hands in responding to the campaign to donate, transfer, or provide information on documents and artifacts related to Truong Sa.
The contents and categories of documents and artifacts mobilized for donation focus on the following groups: Documents and artifacts regarding the geographic location, natural conditions, and features of Truong Sa; documents and artifacts reflecting the strategic position, role, and stature of Truong Sa; documents and artifacts regarding Truong Sa in Vietnamese history; documents and artifacts regarding the activities of the military and civilians, as well as the daily life and vitality of Truong Sa; documents and artifacts regarding the construction and development of Truong Sa, along with its socio-economic and cultural life; documents and artifacts demonstrating the affection, bond, and contributions of the mainland toward Truong Sa; documents, artifacts, photographs, and audiovisual materials reflecting Truong Sa today.
The Provincial People's Committee commits that all documents and artifacts sent to the Truong Sa Museum will be inventoried, appraised, categorized, preserved, and solemnly honored in strict accordance with the provisions of cultural heritage laws. The reception will take place regularly and continuously from the launch date. The reception focal point is the Khanh Hoa Provincial Museum, No. 16 Tran Phu, Nha Trang Ward, telephone 0258.3822277.
The Truong Sa Museum is built in Cam Lam commune, on an area of over 1.7 ha, with a total investment of nearly 300 billion VND sponsored by Vinhomes Joint Stock Company. Upon completion, the Truong Sa Museum together with the Gac Ma Soldiers Memorial will form a complex affirming Vietnam's sovereignty over the Truong Sa Archipelago. The complex also reflects the steadfast resolve to protect the sacred territory of the Fatherland and pays tribute to the generations who sacrificed for sea and island sovereignty.
