In the vibrant flow of modern life, books quietly continue to play a crucial role in cultivating knowledge and nurturing the human soul. In response to Vietnam Book and Reading Culture Day, Khanh Hoa province organized the 2026 Book and Reading Culture Festival with the deeply meaningful theme "Read to innovate, learn to reach further". This event not only provided an exciting reading culture space but also left many profound impressions on local readers and tourists alike.
One of the most deeply humanistic highlights of this year's festival was the official opening of a reading space for the visually impaired at the Khanh Hoa Provincial Library (Facility one on Tran Hung Dao Street, Nha Trang City). The reading room covers an area of about forty square meters and is fully equipped with modern facilities, along with over one thousand two hundred titles in Braille and audiobook CD formats. Furthermore, the integration of digital technology through smart e-reading devices has helped vulnerable individuals easily access knowledge, opening up opportunities for social interaction and confident integration into the community.
The festival atmosphere was further enlivened and made more youthful by a rich array of traditional cultural experiences. Visitors, especially students, were incredibly excited to personally try their hand at calligraphy, molding "to he" (traditional dough figurines), learning about vintage stamps, or discovering local specialties such as agarwood and bird's nest. Additionally, the area displaying artistic book arrangement models created by students from twelve middle and high schools featured elaborate works that fully expressed youthful aspirations and love for the homeland.
The event also served as a bridge connecting readers with local authors through inspiring seminars and book launches. A prime example was the launch of the work "Ho Vuong dao Hoan Lao" by writer and journalist Le Duc Duong, where readers listened to real-life stories about the pristine nature of Nha Trang Bay. Over the course of five vibrant days, the festival attracted approximately four thousand five hundred visitors, truly sparking a practical and sustainable reading movement in today's digital community.
