Khanh Hoa International Kitesurfing Festival

Taking place from January 15 to 17 under the theme "My Hoa Kites - Reaching for the Blue Ocean," the My Hoa - Khanh Hoa International Kitesurfing Tournament 2026 attracts over 200 athletes from domestic clubs and countries including Italy, Germany, Poland, Egypt, Russia, the US, France, and more. Athletes are competing in two categories: Big Air Tricks (technical competition) and Race (speed racing), in both professional and semi-professional classes for men and women, characterized by high professional quality and strong competitiveness. Speaking at the opening ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Long Bien, Member of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee and Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, emphasized that Khanh Hoa Province identifies sea and island tourism, marine sports, and international events as key pillars to create new growth momentum and enhance the province's competitiveness and status. The tournament is of practical significance, serving as the opening of a series of large-scale tourism and sports events in 2026. This is not only a professional and exciting sports playground for domestic and international athletes but also contributes to effectively promoting the potential and advantages of marine sports, step-by-step forming new and specialized tourism products, and thereby promoting the image of Khanh Hoa as a dynamic, friendly, and integrated land and people. Organizing this tournament clearly demonstrates the province's innovative thinking and strategic vision in developing tourism in a professional, green, sustainable, and deeply integrated manner, closely linking sports, tourism, culture, and the local economy. Through the tournament, Khanh Hoa Province is gradually positioning and affirming its brand as an international marine sports destination, contributing to extending tourists' length of stay and spreading development benefits to the local community. 

At My Hoa beach, immediately after the opening ceremony, hundreds of colorful, wind-filled kites were deployed by athletes in preparation for their competitions, creating a lively and exciting competitive atmosphere and a very beautiful sight. A large number of locals and tourists came to watch the athletes' kitesurfing performances. In addition to the professional content, the tournament area also hosted cultural and culinary activities, as well as an exhibition of typical local agricultural products, contributing to enhancing the experience for domestic and international athletes and tourists. Visiting Vietnam for the first time and accompanying her husband to compete in the kitesurfing tournament at My Hoa beach, Ms. Magdalena, a tourist from Poland, expressed her impression of the beautiful scenery and the vibrant atmosphere of the tournament. “At this time of year, my husband and I usually travel to places with beautiful beaches and favorable natural conditions like Egypt, Brazil, the Dominican Republic... so he can pursue his passion for kitesurfing. This is our first time coming to Vietnam for a tournament; the weather here is very ideal—strong, consistent, steady winds, warm water, and shallow beaches are suitable for kitesurfing. The side activities of the tournament are also very vibrant and engaging, making us feel very excited,” shared Ms. Magdalena.

As the champion of the Big Air Tricks category in the professional class of last year's kitesurfing tournament at My Hoa beach, Egyptian athlete Maximiliano Jullis highly appreciates the scale and professional quality of the athletes participating in this year's tournament. “I just finished my part and am waiting for the results. This year, the tournament is organized very grandly with many athletes from various countries participating, and they all show very good preparation. I hope this tournament will be maintained annually with increasing scale and professionalism, thereby creating attraction and appeal for the community of kitesurfing lovers around the world,” said athlete Maximiliano Jullis.
