Khanh Hoa – a land famously known as the “Kingdom of Agarwood and Swiftlet Nests” – has long been renowned for a culinary treasure that embodies the cultural values, historical legacy, and pride of the people of the Land of Agarwood: Khanh Hoa Natural Island Bird’s Nest. Amid the vibrant atmosphere of the Khanh Hoa Sea Festival 2026, the Khanh Hoa Bird’s Nest Culinary Festival once again becomes one of the event’s highlights, marking a remarkable 15-year journey of honoring a Vietnamese culinary heritage that has reached international recognition.

A 15-Year Journey of Elevating Heritage
The bird’s nest harvesting profession in Khanh Hoa has existed for centuries, closely associated with the towering cliffs and coastal communities of the region. Pure and precious bird’s nests are carefully collected by skilled harvesters from swiftlet islands such as Hon Noi and Hon Ngoai, following a challenging process that strictly adheres to conservation principles.

Once regarded as one of the royal delicacies reserved exclusively for emperors and the imperial court, bird’s nest cuisine has, through the creativity and craftsmanship of culinary artisans, become a refined gastronomic treasure enjoyed by people from all walks of life.
Originating from the first Bird’s Nest Culinary Competition in 2011, and through 15 years of continuous development under the dedicated efforts of Khanh Hoa Salanganes Nest Company, the event has officially evolved into a large-scale culinary festival. More than a regular feature of every Sea Festival, it has become a cultural gathering where stories of passion, creativity, and gratitude toward nature are expressed through every exquisite flavor.
These flavors allow diners to experience something profound and elegant—refined, sophisticated, and luxurious, yet deeply familiar. Regardless of culinary innovation, each dish preserves the very soul of the sea, the fragrance of the mountains, and the heartfelt spirit of the people of Khanh Hoa. Every tasting experience becomes not only an appreciation of fine cuisine but also a meaningful connection with the land that nurtures these exceptional values.
A Celebration of Colors, Flavors, and Emotions
One of the major highlights of this year’s festival is the participation of 22 outstanding culinary teams representing leading restaurants, hotels, and resorts across Khanh Hoa Province.
Each team brings fresh perspectives and innovative approaches to the art of preparing bird’s nest cuisine. The dishes are expected not only to impress visually and gastronomically but also to preserve the full nutritional value of bird’s nests while honoring the premium quality and prestige of Khanh Hoa Natural Island Bird’s Nest.
Sharing his perspective on bird’s nest cuisine, Chef Le Dinh Thinh from Sanvinest Khanh Hoa Bird’s Nest Restaurant said:
“The greatest challenge in preparing bird’s nest dishes is preserving their nutritional value, delicate flavor, and distinctive texture while skillfully incorporating modern culinary creativity. Only then can the dishes truly touch people’s hearts and bring the value of bird’s nest cuisine closer to both domestic and international diners.”
Every dish presented at the festival tells a story through the language of flavors. Some chefs evoke memories of the ancient imperial cuisine of Hue through refreshing lotus seed bird’s nest sweet soup, while others introduce modern culinary inspirations by combining bird’s nest with premium ingredients such as truffle mushrooms and lobster. Together, these creations form a harmonious symphony of colors, aromas, and emotions.

Behind every dish lies not only culinary excellence but also the dedication and passion of chefs and artisans committed to preserving and promoting this treasured heritage.
Spreading the Essence of Vietnamese Heritage
Behind the grand scale of the Khanh Hoa Bird’s Nest Culinary Festival is the dedication of individuals who tirelessly preserve and promote Vietnam’s cultural heritage. The 2026 festival is not merely a culinary event but also a significant milestone affirming the value and status of a National Intangible Cultural Heritage.

Mr. Nguyen Thanh Hai, General Director of Khanh Hoa Salanganes Nest Company, shared:
“The 15-year journey of the Bird’s Nest Culinary Festival stands as a testament to our unwavering commitment to preserving the essence of Vietnamese culinary heritage. We hope the event will continue to serve as a distinctive cultural, tourism, and gastronomic highlight, bringing the miraculous natural nutrition of Khanh Hoa bird’s nest closer to communities while contributing to elevating the Vietnamese brand on the international stage.”
The Khanh Hoa Bird’s Nest Culinary Festival 2026 will officially take place at 5:30 PM on July 16, 2026, at Khanh Hoa Bird’s Nest Cultural Park on Pham Van Dong Street, North Nha Trang Ward, Khanh Hoa Province.
As a cultural and tourism ambassador, the festival contributes to honoring culinary artistry, promoting the image of Khanh Hoa, and introducing Vietnam’s national heritage brand to friends around the world.
Building upon nearly 700 years of tradition, together with aspirations for innovation and sustainable development, Khanh Hoa Salanganes Nest Company continues its mission of preserving the heritage value of natural island bird’s nest resources and spreading their nutritional benefits for community health—ensuring that this treasured Vietnamese heritage continues to soar to greater heights and reach further across the world.
