Groundbreaking Ceremony for the Truong Sa Museum

The groundbreaking ceremony for the Truong Sa Museum took place on the occasion of the 51st anniversary of the Liberation of the Truong Sa Archipelago (April 29, 1975 – April 29, 2026); the 51st anniversary of the Liberation of Khanh Hoa Province (April 1975 – April 2026); and the 51st anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification (April 30, 1975 – April 30, 2026). The Truong Sa Museum is a project of special importance; it is an architectural and cultural landmark that contributes to spreading the image of a culturally rich Khanh Hoa to domestic and international friends. The Truong Sa Museum is also a symbol of patriotism and the responsibility to preserve the sovereignty over the sacred seas and islands of the Fatherland.

Speaking at the ceremony, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Viet Hung emphasized: In the heroic atmosphere of the historic April days, Khanh Hoa province solemnly organizes the groundbreaking ceremony for a project of special significance - the Truong Sa Museum. This is a practical project aimed at expressing gratitude to the generations of ancestors who sacrificed for the sovereignty of the seas and islands; while simultaneously affirming the persistent will to protect and preserve the sacred territory of the Fatherland. The Truong Sa Museum project is built in Cam Lam commune on a total area of over 1.7 hectares, with a total investment of nearly 300 billion VND, implemented under a sponsorship model with 100% of the capital provided by Vinhomes Joint Stock Company. The project will be a "red address" for preserving and displaying artifacts and documents about the Truong Sa Archipelago, while also honoring the generations who have protected and preserved Vietnam's territorial sovereignty. Furthermore, with its location in the new Cam Lam urban area, the Truong Sa Museum will become a unique cultural and historical highlight, contributing to attracting tourists and promoting socio-economic development for the locality. We believe that, when it comes into operation, the Truong Sa Museum will become a cultural symbol representing the indomitable spirit of the people of Khanh Hoa in particular and will become a source of pride for the people of the whole country whenever they turn their hearts towards the seas and islands of the homeland.

At the ceremony, the leaders performed the button-pushing ritual to officially start the construction of the Truong Sa Museum; they also watched the documentary "Truong Sa Museum - Turning Memories into Symbols" produced by Khanh Hoa Newspaper and Radio and Television. Artists from the Provincial Traditional Art Theater performed a celebratory cultural program with items featuring themes about the Truong Sa seas and islands and the aspirations for the development of the Khanh Hoa homeland.
