Ahead of the 6th Cham Ethnic Cultural Festival, the special national monuments of Po Nagar Cham Towers and Po Klong Garai Towers have launched a digital platform application for Cham cultural heritage in Khanh Hoa province. This initiative allows visitors to easily experience and learn about Cham ethnic cultural sites and artifacts in the digital space.
Providing an interesting experience
On the morning of June 24, at the Po Nagar Cham Towers special national monument, we witnessed the first visitors scanning QR codes to learn about Cham cultural heritage. Guided by staff, Mr. Nguyen Xuan Dung, a visitor from Ninh Binh province, was very excited to use his Internet-connected phone to look up more information about Po Nagar Towers, Po Klong Garai Towers, Hoa Lai Towers, Po Rome Towers, famous Cham cultural artifacts, and objects displayed at the two locations of the Provincial Museum. Mr. Nguyen Xuan Dung shared: "I find this application very interesting. After visiting the special national monument of Po Nagar Towers, I can now learn about it in a virtual space; at the same time, I can discover other sites and artifacts authentically. I think this approach should be replicated and more QR code scanning points should be set up within the monuments."

Ms. Anna Andreevna Pudova, a Russian tourist, said: "Initially, I only planned to come here to take some photos and then move on to another point. But the architecture of the monument was so beautiful that it kept me here to learn more. When the staff told me there were many more unique towers like this, I immediately scanned the QR code with my phone to explore and was able to see many more monuments and artifacts in other places within your region. I am truly impressed with this experience and have saved the QR code to send to my friends in Russia so they can learn about it too."
When experiencing the digital platform application for Cham cultural heritage in Khanh Hoa province, visitors can take part in a vivid 3D tour of famous cultural sites, including: Po Nagar Cham Towers, Po Klong Garai Towers, Hoa Lai Towers, Po Rome Towers, Khanh Hoa Provincial Museum (Facility 1 at No. 16 Tran Phu, Nha Trang Ward and Facility 2 on 16/4 Street, Phan Rang Ward), and the Thematic Exhibition House of Cham Culture under the Khanh Hoa Provincial Museum (No. 62 To Hieu Street, Phan Rang Ward). Through this intuitive interface, all information regarding the sites, locations, and artifacts is recreated in sharp detail, providing visitors with a comprehensive and authentic exploration experience.
This application was developed by the National Digital Media Data Preservation Center (Department of Press, Ministry of Information and Communications), the Provincial Center for Cultural Heritage Preservation, and Khanh Hoa Newspaper and Radio & Television since early June. To complete the application, the implementation team conducted 3D scanning, photography, digitized data processing, and integrated descriptive information about the monuments and artifacts provided by the Provincial Center for Cultural Heritage Preservation and the Provincial Museum. After completing the software data, the team encoded it to provide QR codes for visitors to scan and experience. Along with this, the Provincial Center for Cultural Heritage Preservation also installed equipment sets including: 50-inch TVs, touch screens, and CPUs at Po Nagar Towers, Po Klong Garai Towers, the Cham culture introduction booth at 16/4 Square (Dong Hai Ward), and the hall hosting the scientific conference "Preserving and Promoting Cham Cultural Identity in the New Era" at Hoan My Tourist Area (Dong Hai Ward) for visitors and locals to experience. The digital platform for Cham cultural heritage in Khanh Hoa province will officially launch during this conference program.
Realizing the goal of heritage digitization
The implementation of the digital platform for Cham cultural heritage in Khanh Hoa province is a strong communication step, contributing to improving the experience and accessibility for the public, while promoting preservation alongside the promotion of heritage values in the context of digital transformation. To make it easy for visitors to access and use, this application is encoded and integrated on admission tickets, parking tickets, brochures introducing the monuments, and more.

According to Master Hoang Thi Bich Hanh, Deputy Director of the National Digital Media Data Preservation Center and Permanent Member of the Press Digital Transformation Support Center (Department of Press, Ministry of Information and Communications), despite the very short implementation time, with a spirit of determination, we have carried out a fairly comprehensive digitization to provide the most authentic virtual space experiences for the public. By simply scanning the QR code or visiting the address http://vanhoacham.khanhhoa.gov.vn, visitors can take a 3D tour of 4 towers and 3 museum locations, fully exploring the imagery from the overall exterior space to every corner and specific artifact inside the monuments. This platform helps users access Cham cultural heritage through various intuitive and easy-to-use forms, including: searching for Cham cultural information; experiencing a digital map of Cham towers; exploring 3D tour routes of monument spaces and museums; and accessing a 3D collection of artifacts, national treasures, and typical Cham cultural items.
The digital platform for Cham cultural heritage in Khanh Hoa province has expanded access opportunities for the public, domestic and international tourists, especially those who have not had or do not have the conditions to visit in person. This application helps everyone access clear, multi-format information; experience through digital models (3D) and digitized thematic content; and increase interaction during visits, thereby forming a more accurate and profound understanding of the value of Cham cultural heritage.

The Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism has built and implemented a roadmap for this work that is practical and sustainable. We are very pleased that the digital platform application for Cham cultural heritage in Khanh Hoa province was completed ahead of the 6th Cham Ethnic Cultural Festival and officially launched at the scientific conference "Preserving and Promoting Cham Cultural Identity in the New Era." This is not only an interesting tourism product that helps visitors both tour and experience in reality, but also allows them to learn about and share information about monuments and artifacts in the virtual space. It is also a way to connect Cham cultural monuments in the province, allowing viewers to explore other sites and locations at a single stop. In addition, this application is an effective solution for preserving the status of heritage through spatial digitization and a standardized data content system, creating a basis for knowledge management and future information updates; it expands access for the domestic and international public, promoting the enjoyment of cultural heritage in the digital era.
