On the afternoon of October 11, the football field of Nha Trang University was bustling with the opening ceremony of the Nha Trang Interior Association Football Tournament - An Cuong Cup 2026. This event marks an important milestone as it is the first time that workers and professionals in the interior and construction industries in Nha Trang have their own exciting, professional football playground.

We hope that starting from this first edition, the Nha Trang Interior Association Football Tournament - An Cuong Cup 2026 will create a turning point to become an annual tournament for the business community in the interior and construction sectors in Nha Trang.”
Running from October 7 to November 7, the Nha Trang Interior Association Football Tournament is played in a league format (single round-robin, points-based) to determine the champion. Notably, all matches are scheduled for the two weekend days, Saturday and Sunday, making it convenient for players to manage their time and compete, thereby ensuring the tournament's professional quality.
Mr. Tran Minh Hoang - Coach of Nam Binh FC, stated: “The scale of the tournament is huge, so the teams have fully focused their forces and prepared quite thoroughly before the tournament took place. The organization is very methodical. This is an opportunity for the participating teams to showcase their spirit and also a chance to interact and network with one another.”
Dramatic matches
Right after the opening ceremony, the two football pitches of Nha Trang University buzzed with excitement as the teams entered Round 2 of the tournament.
The most anticipated match of this round was the clash between Nam Binh FC and Chon A FC, two teams that had had less than favorable starts in the opening round (held on October 8). Specifically, in Round 1, Nam Binh FC earned only 1 point from a draw, temporarily sitting in 6th place on the standings. Meanwhile, Chon A FC had yet to score any points following a defeat, placing 7th.

Entering the match, Chon A FC played slightly better and quickly took a 1-0 lead. It seemed that Chon A FC would secure a victory to improve their standing after a heavy 1-4 loss to Huynh Gia FC in Round 1 just a few days earlier, but that did not happen. After conceding an early goal, Nam Binh FC went all out on the attack, putting Chon A FC's defense under constant pressure. Then, with a squad considered higher in quality and displaying greater composure, Nam Binh FC mounted a comeback to win 5-2 against Chon A FC. This victory helped Nam Binh FC earn 4 points after 2 rounds (with 1 win and 1 draw), thereby climbing into the top 4 of the standings
Equally thrilling was the match between An Dong FC and Phuc Dat FC, where the two teams battled in a tense contest right down to the final minutes. Ultimately, An Dong FC secured a dramatic 3-2 victory, earning 6 points after 2 rounds. With this result, An Dong FC continues to lead the standings.

In the other Round 2 fixtures, La Home FC and TQT FC shared the spoils after 90 minutes with a 2-2 draw; Iki FC edged past Moc Dai Phat FC 2-1, and Navee Décor FC defeated Huynh Gia FC 2-1.
The provisional standings after 2 rounds are shaping the leading pack, led respectively by An Dong FC (6 points), Navee Décor FC (6 points), Iki FC (6 points), and Nam Binh FC (4 points). At the bottom of the table, Moc Dai Phat FC has yet to secure any points after two consecutive defeats. However, the championship race among the teams still lies ahead as the tournament is only in its early stages. The 2026 Nha Trang Interior Association Football Tournament - An Cuong Cup promises truly exciting weekends ahead at the Nha Trang University football pitches.
