In the context of an increasingly competitive tourism market, tourists' demands are no longer limited to comfortable accommodations and beautiful landscapes, but also require professional service quality and distinctive experiences. Faced with the requirement to improve the quality of human resources, especially the management and executive staff of high-end hotels and resorts in the area, the implementation of the Swiss Executive Hospitality Training (Swiss EHT) Program with full scholarships in Khanh Hoa is seen as a practical opportunity for businesses to access advanced management methods, gradually enhancing service quality and destination competitiveness.
Currently, along with the development of the luxury accommodation system, requirements for tourist service quality are becoming increasingly strict. While in the past, advantages in location, scenery, and facilities could create appeal for hotels and resorts, tourist satisfaction nowadays also depends on service attitude, communication skills, problem handling, and the quality of experience throughout their vacation. In particular, amidst the trend toward green and sustainable tourism, businesses must pay more attention to operational management, efficient resource utilization, ensuring safety, and building a professional staff. This creates a need to innovate training, not only for frontline service staff but also for management teams—those who determine operational quality and the development orientation of businesses.
Stemming from that requirement, recently, the Khanh Hoa Investment, Trade and Tourism Promotion Center collaborated with the Institute of Human Resource and Business Development under University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City and the Swiss Tourism for Sustainable Development in Vietnam Project to organize the first training class under the Swiss EHT Program. This is a Swiss-standard training program funded by the Swiss Government, aimed at enhancing management capacity and the quality of tourism and hospitality services in Vietnam. In particular, 27 trainees attending the class in Khanh Hoa were awarded full scholarships, enabling them to access an international training program right in their local area.

Participating in the course were managerial staff from numerous 4- to 5-star hotels and resorts, such as Yasaka Saigon Nha Trang, Alibu Resort Nha Trang, Diamond Bay Hotel, StarCity Nha Trang, Wyndham Grand KN Paradise Cam Ranh, Potique Hotel Nha Trang, Hoan My Resort Ninh Chu, and more. Many trainees have 10 to over 20 years of experience in the industry. Under the theme of "Service Excellence", the program focuses on equipping knowledge of sustainable tourism and hospitality management, communication skills, customer care, hygiene, safety, and sustainable practices. The course lasts for one month, combining online and in-person formats, emphasizing discussions and resolving practical situations in business operations and tourist services.
According to Mr. Truong Van Tien, Director of the provincial Investment, Trade, and Tourism Promotion Center, implementing the Swiss EHT program holds practical significance in enhancing the quality of Khanh Hoa's tourism human resources. Amid an increasingly competitive market, service quality and management capacity are crucial factors determining the ability to retain visitors, build corporate brands, and elevate destination appeal. Through the program, management personnel update their knowledge and gain access to advanced management methods to apply in practice, gradually standardizing service procedures and boosting operational efficiency. The Center will continue to coordinate with relevant units to roll out training programs from basic to advanced levels, contributing to developing high-quality tourism human resources.
According to the plan, in 2026, the program is scheduled to organize two classes in Khanh Hoa, with the second class taking place in November. From the knowledge acquired, trainees can continue to share, guide, and spread modern management methods to staff at their businesses. In the context of Khanh Hoa tourism aiming for high-quality development, investing in human resources—especially managerial staff—not only helps enterprises improve business efficiency, but also contributes to building a professional, hospitable destination image, meeting the ever-higher demands of domestic and international visitors.
