During the opening night, following a special welcome performance by the Provincial Cultural Center, the Organizing Committee presented first, second, and third place overall prizes to localities participating in the 2026 Sports Festival for Ethnic Minorities of Khanh Hoa Province; awarded commemorative flags to 38 communes and wards participating in the cultural day; and honored 27 individuals who have made exemplary contributions to implementing ethnic policies and preserving and promoting traditional cultural values in their localities.

The highlight of the opening night was the artistic performance and ethnic costume display performed by artisans, artists, and amateur performers. Through this, the audience enjoyed 28 singing, dancing, and musical performances by the 28 participating communes and wards. In general, the performances were deeply imbued with the cultural identity of various ethnic groups, such as: 'Cham Village Thanks Uncle Ho'; 'Pottery Village Love'; 'Carrying Sunshine and Rain'; 'Kate, the Spring of Love'; 'Raglai Festival Night'; 'Winds Blowing from Four Directions'; the folk performance 'Ho Ba Trao'; and the 'Ma La' ensemble celebrating the new rice harvest and the wedding ceremony of the T'rin people...

As for the ethnic costume display, the audience watched performances by young men and women from 28 communes and wards. Wearing daily wear, traditional costumes, and festival attire... of the Kinh, Cham, Raglai, T’rin, Ede, Tay, and other ethnic groups, the localities showcased the beauty and unique cultural characteristics of each ethnic group.

On the afternoon of the same day, a photo and poster exhibition themed 'Colors of Vietnamese Ethnic Culture' also took place at April 16 Square. It introduced to the public over 60 photos and posters regarding the characteristic cultural life, craft villages, and traditional cultural traits of ethnic groups in the province, as well as images of the province's notable scenic spots and traditional folk cultural festivals of the local ethnic groups.

Additionally, the program included a mobile propaganda vehicle parade, with the participation of 16 vehicles from the communes and wards and 2 vehicles from the Provincial Cultural Center.
