Following days of vibrant cultural, sports, and tourism activities, the 6th Cham Ethnic Cultural Festival 2026 officially held its closing ceremony at 16/4 Square, Dong Hai Ward. The event was attended by representatives of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, leaders of Khanh Hoa Province, and representatives from the seven participating provinces and cities. In particular, the presence of numerous artisans, artists, performers, amateur athletes, and thousands of local residents and tourists created a grand, joyful, and emotionally resonant closing atmosphere.
The organizing committee affirmed that the festival's resounding success lay not only in its well-organized scale but, more importantly, in the strong dissemination of the invaluable traditional values of the Cham people. The event served as a significant opportunity to honor and preserve heritage, raising community awareness regarding the conservation of the ethnic group's unique identity. At the same time, it acted as a catalyst for new opportunities to boost tourism, cultural industries, and the preservation of traditional craft villages linked to the economic and daily lives of the community.
Taking place from June 26 to June 28, this year's festival brought together nearly 1,000 artisans, artists, performers, and amateur athletes from seven provinces and cities nationwide. Over three days, the public was immersed in a variety of unique activities, such as amateur art festivals, traditional costume performances, and reenactments of unique folk rituals and festivals. Additionally, sports competitions, folk games, exhibitions of artisanal handicraft products, and in-depth seminars on preserving Cham heritage attracted significant interest.
Concluding the competitions, the organizing committee awarded a total of 117 gold medals, 117 silver medals, and 234 bronze medals in sports, along with numerous excellence awards for cultural and tourism activities. The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism also presented certificates of merit to artisan delegations from the provinces and cities in recognition of their positive contributions to the event. The festival did not just conclude with well-deserved awards; more importantly, it created a space for friendly exchange, helping the younger generation continue to sustain the flame of passion, preserve traditional beauty, and strengthen national unity. Following the rotation protocol, the 7th Cham Ethnic Cultural Festival will be hosted by An Giang Province in 2030.
