Building the value system of Khanh Hoa people in the new era

"Developing Khanh Hoa people comprehensively, with ethics, knowledge, bravery, creativity, compassion, hospitality, and aspiration to rise..." is one of the goals set by the Provincial Party Standing Committee in the Action Program to implement Resolution No. 80-NQ/TW, dated January 7, 2026, of the Politburo on developing Vietnamese culture. This makes the requirement to build the value system of Khanh Hoa people in the new era more urgent than ever.

Small actions realize big goals

When discussing building the value system of Khanh Hoa people in the new context, we often imagine a large and relatively abstract requirement or issue. But when we start implementing it, the interesting thing comes from vivid, diverse, and very simple, ordinary expressions such as: creating reading habits for students, pupils, and young people and doing good things from books; connecting the community through concern for difficult circumstances; being ready to help each other when natural disasters or misfortunes occur; smiling and communicating politely with tourists...

There are many other ways to build Khanh Hoa citizens with ethics, knowledge, bravery, creativity, compassion, hospitality, as well as nurturing great aspirations in each person, as shared by Ms. Thai Thi Le Hang - Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism at the opening ceremony of the provincial children's book storytelling contest in 2026: "The pages you read today are good luggage for you to step into the future. There, you carry love for your homeland, family, and loved ones; pride in the historical values and cultural traditions of your locality and country. From here, each of you becomes more deeply aware of your role in building an increasingly prosperous homeland and country. Or at least, each of you will have more knowledge and skills from books and newspapers to apply in study and work later."

With the desire to develop and build the value system of Khanh Hoa people in the new era, the province has set a determination to complete the system of cultural institutions by 2030; 100% of communes, wards, and special zones have cultural and sports institutions or suitable community activity points to serve the creative and cultural enjoyment needs of the people; complete the foundational digital database on the province's cultural heritage in 2027; restore and preserve intangible cultural heritages and traditional arts at risk of fading; effectively protect and promote intangible cultural heritages recognized by UNESCO and national intangible cultural heritages; 100% of general education institutions implement cultural, artistic, and local cultural heritage education content appropriate to each level of education; maintain and improve the quality of festivals, cultural and artistic festivals, sports events, and typical tourism events of the province... These can be seen as necessary premises to enhance the people's demand for enjoying cultural and artistic values in all regions of the province. From there, gradually cultivate core spiritual values so that each citizen, especially the young generation, is attached and contributes to the homeland and country.

Building a healthy cultural environment

In the plan to implement the Government's Action Program and the Provincial Party Standing Committee's Action Program to implement Resolution No. 80-NQ/TW of the Politburo on developing Vietnamese culture, the leaders of the Provincial People's Committee have clearly stated that one of the solutions to successfully implement the above policies is to build Khanh Hoa people and a healthy cultural environment. Specifically, the Provincial People's Committee requires the synchronous implementation of cultural value system, national value system, family value system, and standards of Vietnamese people in the new period associated with building and spreading the value system of Khanh Hoa people with qualities of gentleness, hospitality, compassion, and dynamism; forming the value of Khanh Hoa land associated with beautiful natural characteristics, diverse culture, civilized society, and happy people; focusing on building comprehensively developed people; ensuring the rights to enjoy, create, and equal access to cultural values of the people; paying attention to building public service culture and behavioral standards for cadres, civil servants, and public employees, especially leaders, associated with the responsibility of setting examples, serving the people, discipline, and administrative discipline; strengthening close coordination between family - school - society in educating ideals, ethics, lifestyle, aesthetics, civic awareness, and awareness of preserving national cultural identity for teenagers, pupils, and students.

Along with that, promote the role of literature and art in orienting tastes, aesthetics, and cultivating the perfection of each individual's personality; integrate art education programs, especially traditional arts, into school teaching; create conditions for students to access and participate in cultural and artistic activities, develop talents and strengths, improve artistic appreciation ability, and contribute to preserving and conserving traditional cultural values of the nation.

According to Ms. Thai Thi Le Hang, implementing the plan of the Provincial People's Committee, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism will organize diverse propaganda and promotion activities to spread the image, cultural values, land, and people of Khanh Hoa; tourism development potential, and cultural heritage values of the province to domestic and foreign localities; increase the frequency of articles, images, and videos promoting the province's heritage, festivals, and destinations, recreate vivid cultural spaces, enhance visitor experiences, optimize communication effectiveness on digital platforms and the ability to spread in the community. The Department also focuses on consolidating and developing the system of cultural and sports institutions from the province to the grassroots in a synchronous and modern direction; improving the efficiency of management, exploitation, and use, meeting the cultural and sports needs of the people...

According to Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Duy Bac - Deputy Director of the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics, in the current renovation period, the Party Committee and people of Khanh Hoa are striving to accelerate socio-economic development; while expanding foreign cooperation and exchange, they also pay attention to preserving and promoting cultural identity, historical and humanistic traditions. Those precious values contribute to enriching and highlighting the cultural identity and people of the land of Tram Huong. Building the value system and standards of Khanh Hoa people in the new era is not separate from the content, goals, tasks, and solutions of building the national value system, cultural value system, family value system, and standards of Vietnamese people in general, but at the same time, it is necessary to pay attention to the distinctive features of the land, culture, and people here in the overall relationship of the country's cultural values, focusing on building new lifestyles, new cultural standards, developing and creating new cultural values on the basis of preserving and promoting traditional cultural values, diversity, and cultural identity of ethnic groups, regions, and areas...
