Am Chua Festival

The Am Chua Festival is a traditional festival for people in the province as well as other provinces and cities across the country. It is the opening festival for the Mother Goddess (Mau) celebrations in the third lunar month, taking place at the Am Chua National Relic site, which is associated with the legend of Thien Y A Na Holy Mother, deeply ingrained in the subconscious of every citizen with the saying: "Am Chua reveals the human, Thap Ba reveals the saint." Over the years, with the contributions of the people and the support and attention of all levels and sectors, the Am Chua relic campus has been restored and protected, attracting the interest of citizens, pilgrims, and tourists. 

This year's Am Chua Festival takes place from April 17 to 19 (from the 1st to the 3rd of the 3rd lunar month), featuring traditional rituals such as traditional sacrificial ceremonies, incense offerings, and performances of "hat van" (ritual singing) and "mua bong" (trance dance) by pilgrim groups from both within and outside the province. This year, the festival organizing committee received registration from over 150 pilgrim groups from inside and outside the province. During the 3 days of the festival, it is estimated that about 20,000 people and tourists will attend. To ensure security and safety, the Dien Dien Commune authorities have coordinated with functional agencies to implement plans for maintaining security, order, traffic safety, and food hygiene and safety.
