According to reporters accompanying the tourism digital transformation task force, with an intensive working schedule from 5:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m., a team of more than 30 officials, including leaders of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Khanh Hoa Newspaper and Radio-Television Station, experts, tourism officials, and technicians, is racing against time to complete a pilot digital database of more than 20 prominent tourism sites in Khanh Hoa. The project aims to support data transformation into the digital environment and provide the public with digital tourism experiences ahead of the Khanh Hoa Sea Festival 2026.
Under the close direction of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, experts and Khanh Hoa Newspaper and Radio-Television Station have urgently conducted field surveys at more than 20 famous landscapes and tourist attractions, including the Special National Relic of Po Nagar Cham Towers, Tram Huong Tower, Hon Chong, Khanh Hoa Museum, Long Son Pagoda, Do Theatre, Champa Island Nha Trang, Vinpearl Nha Trang, and Kenh Ha Lake, in order to carry out digitization, 3D scanning, aerial filming of spaces and artifacts, and on-site data processing to ensure accuracy and progress.
Mrs. Thai Thi Le Hang, Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Khanh Hoa Province, said:
"The development of the Khanh Hoa Digital Tourism Platform is an important task in implementing Resolution No. 57 dated December 22, 2024 of the Politburo on breakthroughs in science and technology development, innovation, and national digital transformation, as well as the task of building a digital tourism platform for tourism promotion and management assigned by the Khanh Hoa Provincial Party Committee and Provincial People's Committee. I hope and believe that the launch of the Khanh Hoa Digital Tourism Platform during the Khanh Hoa Sea Festival 2026 will create a breakthrough in the digital transformation of the province's tourism and cultural sectors and overcome previous difficulties in applying technology to tourism and heritage. Through this platform, residents and visitors who are unable to travel directly to Khanh Hoa will still be able to experience the beauty of the province in the digital environment, thereby contributing to the stronger development of local tourism and culture."
Accordingly, data from more than 20 notable attractions and tourism sites, including the Special National Relic of Po Nagar Cham Towers, Tram Huong Tower, Nha Trang Beach and Tran Phu coastal area (where activities of the Khanh Hoa Sea Festival 2026 will take place), April 2 Square and Tue Tinh Park (venue for the Culinary Fair), Cau Da Villas, Truong Son Craft Village, Institute of Oceanography, Long Son Pagoda, Ana Marina, Champa Island Nha Trang - Resort Hotel & Spa, I-Resort Nha Trang Hot Mineral Springs, Mai Sinh Swiftlet Village, Do Theatre - Vega City, Nha Trang Cathedral, Hon Chong - Hon Do Scenic Site, Tram Trung Eggs Tourist Area, Kenh Ha Ecotourism Site, Nha Trang Xua, Truc Lam Zen Monastery - Vinpearl Nha Trang, the Special National Relics of Po Klong Garai Towers, Po Rome Towers, Hoa Lai Towers, and the three facilities of Khanh Hoa Museum, has been collected and processed directly on site for integration into the Khanh Hoa Digital Tourism Platform to ensure accuracy.
Data are collected and processed directly on-site by experts and technicians from the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism and Khanh Hoa Newspaper and Radio-Television Station before being integrated into the Khanh Hoa Digital Tourism Platform.
Mrs. Hoang Thi Bich Hanh, Deputy Director of the National Digital Media Data Preservation Center and Standing Member of the Press Digital Transformation Support Center under the Press Department (Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism), said that this is the second time she has accompanied the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Khanh Hoa Province in providing digital transformation consultancy, following the launch of the digital platform on Cham cultural heritage serving the preservation and promotion of Cham cultural heritage during the 6th Cham Ethnic Cultural Festival in 2026.
According to Mrs. Hanh, Khanh Hoa's research and development of a digital tourism platform are necessary to realize Resolution No. 57 of the Politburo on breakthroughs in science and technology development, innovation, and national digital transformation in accordance with the province's 2026 plan.
In addition to allowing domestic and international visitors to experience 3D tours, view artifacts and spaces of more than 20 digitized pilot destinations, and use integrated digital maps and geolocation services, the platform will also support currency conversion tools, allow users to book tours directly on the platform, and suggest surrounding services such as dining, transportation, events, Sea Festival activities, and other amenities including parking areas, public restrooms, rescue services, and healthcare facilities. It will also provide updates and information on events taking place throughout the year, enabling visitors to proactively arrange both short-term and long-term travel plans.
Mrs. Hoang Thi Bich Hanh participates in a field survey at Truc Lam Zen Monastery - Vinpearl Nha Trang with the expert delegation from the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Khanh Hoa Province.
Mrs. Hanh shared that the Khanh Hoa Digital Tourism Platform will enable both domestic and international visitors to experience virtual tours and "touch" every beauty of Khanh Hoa on mobile devices and computers, even before having the opportunity to visit the province in person.
At the same time, in the field of communications, the participation of Khanh Hoa Newspaper and Radio-Television Station will contribute to accelerating the digital transformation of journalism and media, creating a breakthrough for the province's tourism sector in the coming period.
Khanh Hoa Digital Tourism Platform to Launch on July 17
The Khanh Hoa Digital Tourism Platform is expected to officially launch on July 17.
Mr. Nguyen Xuan Duy, Deputy Director of Khanh Hoa Newspaper and Radio-Television Station, stated that with its strengths in multimedia journalism, the agency has not only undertaken communication tasks but has also accompanied the digitization process of tourist destinations through the development of digital communication products such as 360-degree videos, multimedia reports, infographics, podcasts, QR codes, and content on digital platforms and social media.
"By combining images, technology, and data in every story, we help visitors easily access information, explore, and experience destinations even before their trips, thereby promoting the image of a modern, friendly, and attractive Khanh Hoa. The Khanh Hoa Digital Tourism Platform is not only intended to store information but, more importantly, to tell emotional and inspiring stories about the land and people of Khanh Hoa. From seemingly dry data, multimedia products are transformed into vivid audio-visual experiences, creating unique attractions and strongly spreading the values and image of tourism in the Land of Agarwood."

Mr. Nguyen Xuan Duy emphasized that the combination of journalism, media, and digital technology will create a modern, rapid, and highly interactive method of tourism promotion. Digital platforms not only help spread the image of Khanh Hoa to domestic and international visitors but also facilitate personalized information services, direct connections with tourists, measurement of communication effectiveness, and the development of a smart tourism ecosystem.
"Simply put, digital technology is the tool, while journalism is the storyteller. When these two elements are harmoniously combined, each destination is not only introduced but also becomes a source of inspiration, creating a powerful and far-reaching impact."
